Animated maps
Overview
At MIC-HUB, we turned complex GPS-derived mobility data into clear stories. I created three animated spatial visualisations. My focus was on the visual concept, cartographic design and animation.
The result is a set of visual stories that make movement patterns easier to explore across local, urban and regional scales.
These visualisations were also featured in a video introducing MIC-HUB's Mobility Data Science unit.
Alpi Apuane Trails
GPS trails reveal how movement is distributed across the mountain landscape of the Alpi Apuane.
Treviso Origin–Destination Flows
An animated origin–destination view of trips across the Treviso region. Each dot represents a certain number of trips (size of the dot is proportional to the number of trips) moving from origins to destinations.
Naples Isochrone
A wave-like animation showing how an accessibility isochrone expands across Naples.
